Super B's go everywhere one way empty with 3 axles in the air and they are leaving skid marks all over the pavement at every frost heave.

I'm sure there are frost heaves in somewhere in Europe so what is being done differently that this isn't a problem over there?

In most cases euro trucks have the hanger spring under the axle giving more suspension travel but also allowing the axle to lift higher in comparison to the other axles on the unit

Ok 1mpg would only be possible on tractors, I've run identical 620hp scanias on the same run on the same day with the same load, the difference was just over 1mpg, it's not just rolling resistance with a tractor but you also have the drag from the extra diff etc, that's why you see very few tandem drive tractors in naziland!

Should have clarified here one was tandem the other a tag axle

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Michelin's sole purpose in pushing the X-One was to buy carbon credits from Al Gore. that somewhere along the line benefitted their bottom line.

One thing I would say; euro diffs are much heavier than their US counterparts so that would make a difference too

Yes but Arvin Merritor is saying their single drive tandem is only good for .25. Are you saying that .75 comes from lifting it? That would only happen a small percentage of the time for many applications.

I need to buy Michelin shares. That's all I buy for tires anyways.

Hard to say bob , I've only done it with two identical euro boxes, 2 620 scanias, 1 6x4 and 1 6x2, same load, time everyting, but the diffs in those are huge by comparison , it was worth 1mpg in those maybe less in trucks in NA but def would make a huge difference
