    OK,CR 6 area? I know I've seen it.....

Either way, I'd look at Pro Fleet, if I wanted OTR flatbed. Nice equipment, they say great hometime, most of what I've seen is building materials.

You're right about the equipment, all of their trucks look pretty new.

Their website says that they want two years recent OTR. I sent their recruiter an email to see what they are willing to accept.

Airgas sits between Dynamax Corp. and Jeanwood Dr south side of CR-6 about 50 yards in.

The company I work for now, Patrick Metals, bought the old Trophy park model building down the street, they are attempting to start an anodizing plant there.

Elkhart does seem to be doing better these days. I see a lot of companies moving in or expanding existing operations (Bull Moose Tube just dropped 20,000,000 on a building addition). There also seems to be a lot of hiring compared to other cities in the area.

I occasionally deliver to the Patrick Metals in Osceola, an extrusion plant I think. Where do you run for Patrick?

Yup, extrusions. Most everything stays in a 50 mile radius, but we have customers in Chicago, and up into Michigan we deliver to. Minnesota, Ohio, Kentucky etc, goes on a carrier.
It used to be a decent place to work, but we got a new owner about 4 years ago, and it's been sliding downhill since. Lost a lot of good people, in the plant, and in the office. I don't know how much longer they will be around.

I've also heard good and bad about Tandem, in Michigan City. heard more good than bad. They are all flatbed.

Unless you are dead set on flatbed you might want to look at Chemical Tanker companies.

Both the Chicago and Memphis areas are hot beds of freight. Superior Carriers has terminals in Markham, Kankakee and Memphis. Home time is better than 3 days every 21 and you might be able to work out something dedicated between Chicago and Memphis with a Tanker company. That would be ideal for your situation. Even loads into Canada would most likely deadhead you back to Markham.
