Well I have been with swift for 90 days now and my biggest check has been about 400 dollars after taxes. I have a crappy truck, a stupid driver manager, and have been sitting without a load for a week.

I'm totally burned out with Swift and to top it off, my brother works at McDonalds and IS MAKING MORE MONEY THAN ME!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking about us express or celedon... ideas comments questions?

I can second the vote for Celadon. My hubby drives for them too. Their miles have dropped off a bit, but hubby still does pretty good.

At 90 days experience, I'd be thinking long and hard before I jumped ship. With all of the more experienced drivers in the labor pool today, it's not gonna be easy getting another job.
And at 90 days experience, you haven't even begun to learn yet, or even give the "rough spots" a chance to smooth out.
Just my opinion, but I'd work on ironing out the wrinkles at my current job (at least for the time being) before I bailed and went somewhere else.

Joetro, panhandlepat and leannamarie Thank this.

If this advice doesn't work try Conway. I know they hire at three months experience. Just don't quit before you find another company.

Sitting a week without a load?? What terminal are you out of. I would be calling that dm 4, 5 times a day bothering him thats not right. The most ive ever had to sit with swift is one day. If you an your dm arent working out try talking with your fleet or terminal manager and see if you can get a new dm. Dont quit yet 90 days isnt much exp. most companies will frown upon wanting to quit after 90 and will think you like to jump ship a lot. Just stick it out until 6 months but definately try talking with your terminal manager to get you a new dm. Just explain he isnt working for you and want to run.

    ssbowles Thanks this.

Well since the last time I posted not much has improved. I'm just going to give it a couple more months. I have talked to my fleet manager but he is so busy I think he forgot about lil ole me.

I did get a new truck. They sold the one I had. Got a new p.o.s. volvo. Been in the shop more than the other truck.

Here are some interesting stats. The more I read over these the more pissed I get but hey, the economy sucks. It will get better.

September I drove just over 8,000 miles the entire month.
October I drove (well... they paid me for..) 7,084 miles.

November (Holy Crap) I got paid for (drum roll please)... 6294 miles!:biggrin_25510:

So far this month I'm at about the 2,000 mile marker.

Please keep in mind that I have only taken 6 days of home time since I began driving for Swift. The whole idea of not going home was so I can stay out for long periods of time and make money. Boy was I wrong.

Also keep in mind that I have about 7 days of layover pay pending. Pending because no matter how much I nag my DM it never shows up on my paycheck! I'm still waiting for layover pay from October! I guess they can't afford it lol

oh yeah and my takehome pay for the last 4 paychecks is less than 1,400 total (yeah, you read that correctly..... 4 payckecks = less than 1,400).

I'm just going to stick it out. THANK GOD the only bills I got are my cell phone, internet, food, and some other bills. So far I have been able to make due. I just wish I could get ahead and knock out my 25,000 in debt.

By the way..... no accidents, no tickets, no logbook violations, no service failures. All in all I'm doing good. I just happen to complain a lot and I'm usually a patient person. It takes a lot to piss me off. Ignorance and Liers piss me off.

I'm just going to send a qualcomm message every week from now on detailing all the pay they "may have forgotten" to pay me.

I will eventually get paid.... or not. We'll see.

ANYWAY....... anyone else have the freight flu bug (waiting for loads)???
