Not sure about on the t6 but w9 we were able to lift it right up over the hood, prop it up to let the springs down and it came straight upRideandrepair and skallagrime Thank this.

Ah, yeah, thats not the pain point for me, hood removal and reinstall is not actually all that hard, it would be nice to have an overhead crane or something so i didnt HAVE to pull hood. Theres some things that full hood removal makes easier (cac/ac bolts spring to mind)
but my fight is with the fan shroud removing and putting back in, if i ever do this again i may just cut it in half or at least trim it near the lower hose location. 30 minutes to finagle it out, 45 to out it in. Probably could have solved that by removing fan before pulling, putting fan in after setting new rad, but i dont have a short clearance impact either, so i guess i should put that on my listJoeyJunk, RedForeman and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Funny the shrouds the hardest part. Tough on my Truck as well. Sometimes you can take it off, and slide it over and let it hang on the fan.JoeyJunk Thanks this.

Well, with the time i had, i decided to change my leaking oil cooler gaskets, then decided i wanted to clean the whole filter housing
Choice 1, fine, choice 2, not so bright
The casting between block and filter housing took easily 50 ft lb to back off the bolts, torque spec is about 15 ft lbs, upon cleaning and reassembly
1 ear cracked, fine, remove, jb weld, ill get another housing, but it was 6 pm. I dont have high hopes for jb weld in this position, but it may see me through tomorrow.
Inspect jb weld, reassemble, torque to 10 lbs this time, crack another ear.
I wouldnt normally care, id get the part tomorrow and thats that, but i have a load i already put off a day thats already on my trailer.
Jb weld 2nd ear, waiting on cure till at least not tacky so i can reassemble and fill oil/coolant.

Other things. Repaired oil pressure wire, was falling apart, replaced cam position sensor. Tightened steer axle ubolts, turned down a washer behind an idler pulley that has been shredding 8 groove belts for the past 10 years, replaced hood, have things MOSTLY back together.
Stupid me thinking i should fix ALL the thingsJoeyJunk, RedForeman and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
And nope, its dickedJoeyJunk, RedForeman and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Interesting, new part has a groove set up so that it WHEN the oil seal fails, it will show up at a predetermined failure point (the notch). Or at least thats the hope.
