Auto reset breakers are normally much better and only the odd one may get weaker with age.
The cost to convert the complete system is not much but will be time consuming.
You can add an auxiliary fuse block for extra circuits if you wish but I would leave your original wiring as much as possible. Checking for heat is the way to find a cycling breaker if you have a short in older wiring. This is also the easiest way to detect a weak breaker.

Just pop the center cover off. What you’ll see is exactly like the fuse bussbar system you posted, except with breakers. Look for rust from water leaking and any loose wires on the breakers. If everything looks good, Leave it alone!! Lol. Hopefully you’ll never have any problems. It’s interesting. Notice the numbers on the wires. Makes for an easy diagnosis if a broken wire needs repair. Only problem I had once, was a bad female terminal for one of the big square breakers. It fit loose. I twisted the blade on the breaker, plugged it in. Left it alone. Lol.

I posted a few years back. I did have one that the contact inside of breaker cracked. That was time consuming to find. Only ever seen that twice. I agree that panel is superior to most. I've spent lots of time working on KW/Pete panels. Vacuum out and watch for corrosion. It's pretty solid. Along as people keep thier meat beaters out of them.
