Why would the evaporator be wet? What the hell is that tube that allows evap. water to go to ground there for? To allow the evaporator's continual condensation to leave the vehicle, that's what. The condenser can be easily cleaned with a good blast of pressurized water, aka a car wash wand.

That tube is for the water/condensation off the evaporator "that gets wet" on the surface why do think some high end cars have an after blow when shutting off "to dry the evaporator..
The condenser can get plugged on the inside k

Never seen it happen before, and I studied as an auto tech. And I am quite familiar with auto A/C systems. Put an entire A/C system into an ex-GF's car, which had no A/C, when I was younger. Tearing the dash apart to install the evaporator, cut holes to route the lines and install a new temp control unit was a real PITA, let me tell you. Seems to me if you are worried about the evaporator, you could shut the A/C down for five or ten minutes, before you park the vehicle. Same result.

Oh about shutting the a/c off I posted earlier about doing that.... Which helps keep the musty/mildew smell down to a minimum when you first turn on a/c....
