96 Pete with 3406b and 9 speed , the truck has been running daily with no major issues but our other driver says the truck will get to about 60mph and no faster and sometimes it will lose 5 to 10 mph and this is unloaded to. What could be wrong?
96 Pete won't get over 60 mph

maybe your company thought you two guys were racing around. and decided to govern the truck
-
Lol no I'm not here that much.
-
Does it also have low power? Fuel filters would be my 1st guess before I dug any deeper.
-
Power seems ok but I don't drive it either. I know the filters were changed a few months ago.
-
Ask the driver if it runs ok and just stops at 60 like a governor. Any warning lights or anything else abnormal going on? Did it happen all at once, or is it progressively getting worse? -
No it's fine and just all of a sudden it started it and no lights.
-
Well we replaced the filters and I dont know why but our guy rebuilt the air/fuel ratio and everthing seems fine, well for now.
GrapeApe Thanks this.
