    Help!!

4 yr old batteries started taking a dump. Had to jump start the truck several times. Started having issues with the clearance lights blowing fuses. Coincidentally, it was during inclement weather. Checked all of the lights on the roof and found a few were loose. They are LED lights. Put in a new fuse and they were working properly. Periodically, I would go out and start the truck, check the lights and the fuse would blow. Happened about 5 times.

Finally replaced the batteries (x4) and got the truck started. Checked all of the lights and hear a clicking noise in the fuse box. Checked the fuse and its good. Checked the relay and felt the clicking and it would click about every 8-10 seconds. The dash lights would also flicker for a split second. Replaced the relay with a new one. SAME RESULT! Checked all of the other lights (Headlights, Marker Lights, Load Lights and Tail Lights) and they are all working as they should.

CLPS fuse is good, CLPS relay is clicking and the clearance lights aren't working. Could it be the switch? My immediate thought is to replace the current clearance light fixtures (Grakon 1000s) with new ones. Your input to remedy this issue is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like there might be a wiring issue inside the overhead console

Probably got water in the wires, or rubbing, which caused the fuse to blow and now they're corroded enough to not make contact

Do you have this problem only when the the engine is running? Is everything works fine when the engine is off, you more than likely have wire shorting out somewhere, or a corroded connection somewhere. Good luck tracking down the issue, you’ll need it. For me ‘automotive electronics’ are one of the few things in life I have a low tolerance for, I’d rather spent all day digging a ditch, instead of delving into a wire harnesses.

Its possible the switch is bad, the connectors get loose from vibration and get hot, melt the wire and the switch goes bad. Have you pulled the dash and looked at the back of the switch? Also 379's are notorious for the roof leaking, so a wire could be shorting out. You have to drop the headliner to access all the lights.
