mapei of garland tx sucks big time
had a 4 pm appt, showed up at 3 pm and did not get loaded until almost 9pm.
this with a 7 am delivery in witchita ks. my 14 ran out while I was sitting on their dock and I had to spend the night in their yard, leaving dallas at 0530 to be in witchita in an hour and a half (my truck is nowhere near that fast)
the broker (ch robinson) refused to reset my delivery time and called my company multiple times to complain about my being late on the delivery. I stayed in constant communication with both the broker and my dispatch about the situation
I asked my company to not put me under another ch robinson load
I have hated those jerks since the very first time I pulled a load for them back in 94
a bad shipper

You poor poor thing...I don't tolerate that stuff....but then again I'm so wierd...the recievers hurry to get me out of there...so I never have that problem...
Today I had a delivery...I was late...guys were there for like 4-5 hours...I was gone in 1 hour... -
Goose, Dude, Ya never heard of creative logging? Gotta do it......
-
All you're doing is covering the broker's ##### for poor planning and screwing over the next driver.
Who will be expected to jump through hoops to deliver another Cheap and Heavy Robinson load.
Plus setting yourself up for major legal trouble in the event of a wreck.
Where the opposing attorney's will go through everything with a fine tooth comb.
You think CH Robinson will back you up if you get into hot water?
Better think again.
Trust me, it's not worth it.
If you can't make a decent living in this biz running legal, than perhaps you should find another line of work. -
You log it to get you through the day legally. At bedtime, you throw that log away and make a new log that is "creative" to send in to the company. So, if you got inspected during that day you will pass. What you are doing is borrowing from the next days hours during the day, then repaying at the end of the day with the creative log. But, that's just me and my way. You have to do what you think works for you.

So whatever, I started driving and at 2 AM got so tired I pulled it over and slept until I felt OK to drive. The next morning they kept calling me every hour wanting to know where I was.
Let's just say I got to the reciever at 3 PM and they unloaded it without saying a word. So much for such a "hot load."
Don't let CH Robinson's staff or any other cubicle worker pressure you into falling asleep at the wheel. Or you can just turn your phone off, because as far as I am concerned it is the dispatcher's job to deal with brokers not yours.Big Duker Thanks this. -
The opposing attorneys will pull your engine data, interview dock & shipping/receiving personnel, subpoena credit card & fuel receipts, I-PASS, EZ-PASS data, etc.
They will argue that had you been running legal, you would not have been at the scene of the wreck.
And then you will be in civil court losing your house, car, savings, etc.
Plus fines and loss of your CDL...possibly some jailtime if someone is hurt/killed.
Is it really worth it?
To you, maybe.
Certainly not to me. -
That's absolutely right, and your own company won't even back you up. You'll get fired for trying trying to be a super trucker. Everyone sniggles on their logbook, but it's on you if you get caught.

yeah interesting quote "what works for you" you see some drivers don't mind risking there own lives and the lives of others just to get a hot load to its destination however the truth is most of us drivers who have some kind of consious and don't want to risk there lives and the lives of others and who feel unconfortable about lying on there log books can't do that kind of thing eventually the authorities will catch up with you . like they did with me thank goodness i was only over by 10 minutes all they did was make me park up and wait for 8 hrs i learnt my lesson and refuse to do any dodgy logs or hot loads why risk my life and the life of others for what ? As a wise bible writer once wrote 'Everything is vanity and the striving after the wind"
Keep safe drivers and i'll see u on the highway somewhere

NO ####! The rules are changing from 20-30 years ago! There were no "times" on fuel or scale receipts. Now with qcomms to track you, cell phone records, and with the ECM on all of all these trucks now and yes they do log the actual time the truck was started when the brakes were releases and reset and how fast you drove! Heck, why do we need OBRD or what ever they call them! WE already have them! And don't fall for that BS about if you pay cash for your fuel they can't track it as it IS BS! It went on a computer log at xyz fuel stop and there aren' that many mom and pop places left that hand write a fuel receipt! Even the scale ticket has a freaking number that can be tracked so throwing away the top copy of a CAT scale ticket is ONLY good for that DOT inspection but NOT an audit!
If you think that you can get away with a comic book anymore you really do need to get off the road as yu've been looking at the dashey white lines wayyy to long! I've been doing this enough that I finally learned to just log it as I drive it and legal isn't that hard and that bottom feeder company isn't going to pay you any extra for the effort and like posted they WILL throw your arse under the bus and to the wolves to save themsevles from DOT in case you screw the pooch!
If Dispatch screws up and gives you bad times or sends you in there late then it's your responsibility to tell them what YOU are legally able to do and if they really want it there on time then dispatch it right or drag their arse out there and drive the truck themselves! I quit doing crap for free anymore as it didn't pay the bills and wore my butt out!
