Guilty. That bits definitely a classic and if you look up "comedic genius" in the dictionary you'll see a picture of Carlin. Pryor or maybe Kinison would be acceptable as well.

I never liked Kinison,,,his voice was just more annoying than his jokes were funny.. Carlin, was always funny but sometimes more vulgar than I wanted to listen to. Pryor was less vulgar over all but, he was definitely funny...

"Vulgar" and "offensive" are "in the eye of the beholder" so to speak. Some people get offended by everything. I'm more offended by racism and sexism than I am by a few bad words. But that's me. There's stuff that had I been a mod, would certainly not be allowed under my "dictatorship", lol, but the mods here do a fine job of keeping the peace.

I am not wanting to be a jerk on this issue and I applaud those who work so hard to make this forum such a good place to hang out. I have been kicked off of other forums before and would understand if at some point I am kicked off here. Because I am political, my speech is protected at a higher level then others. Not on the forums but in the real world. It has to be so that discussions of sensitive things can take place.

Does Racism exist in our country? Yes. It does. Sexism does. All isms do. They happen because of economics. When the economy expands there is more and more to share but as it decreases we become scared and start choosing sides. We want to be on the winning side so we tend to favor people who remind us of ourselves. We don't want illegal immigrants to have trucking jobs because we feel it lowers our wages. That doesn't mean we are anti-foreigners we are just pro-whoever we are.

Some words are designed to show disrespect. I use the word a-hole to refer to those in authority whose intelligence I question. Replacing that with the symbols ####### does not reflect my thoughts in the same manner.

Now lets try a real touchy subject and touch on racism. The so called N word. I am of the age where the word was used all the time. Not by me, unless I was ordering a box of a certain candy. We lived in a small town of 10,000 and I was born in 1956 so we missed out on the days of two schools based on race. I would never refer to the collected community of Americans of Africa ancestry by that term. However, the term is very hurtful. So if my intent is to be very hurtful, why wouldn't I use it. Does that make me a racist? That call would have to be up to you. Because racist is also a hurtful term.

Words can be used for many reasons. Comforting or cutting. The free exchange of ideas requires some risk as well as some restraint. Many times evil is done by those who are only trying to make things better. Use the power of censorship wisely as once a freedom is lost it is very hard to recover.

Kinison was funny. I liked him in the movie with Rodney danger field. When he was yelling. A video for your pleasure.
