How do you deal with the Political Correctness freaks in college? Read today a guy was offended and put out a "Hate Alert" on campus because he saw a mural that was legally painted in the dorm of Harry Potter; a before (younger age) and an after (older mature age) Harry Potter. He said since the actor is quite handsome now at an older age, that the painting discriminates against average looking people.BigTennOTR and Weeezerd Thank this.

We lease and the damaged trucks get repaired, the company and its insurance stands that. I get to the lease yard often, actually saw the ones being sold in the line, they are gone before 500k. They used to run longer.
They also swap teams out for new trucks often to keep from having 500 k on 2 year old trucks.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Mostly I dont care any more. After having driven for Western OTR for a year nothing phases me. I've already called people out on their PC nonsense. Already this semester I had to write a paper on injustice and proceeded to write an essay on how it was an injustice that Hillary was not in prison awaiting a lynching for multiple acts of treason. When the teacher decided to bring the dean in on this I just laughed. The politics I dealt with in the WE offices was way scarier. What are they going to do? Kick me out for telling the truth? I just dont care any more, and the more I don't care, the less people seem to bother me because they realize that it's a waste of time to try and shame someone who doesn't care into doing what they want through the use of buzzwords and phrases(racist, sexist, bigot, misogynist,etc.).Ooops, 207nomad, jeff18 and 1 other person Thank this.

Yeah totally, even though I said I don't work for Werner. How is it crying to warn people about a really bad company?BigTennOTR and driverdriver Thank this.

Some of the wrecked trucks in the picture have lots of rust as if they've been sitting a long time. Are they used for parts?BigTennOTR Thanks this.

Is Louie the mechanic still there? He was head of the shop years ago when I worked for XpressCo, which Wayne Wise owned.

I don't, and wouldn't do Western Express, SMX I might have considered.
When our company owned tractors, they dragged the wrecks and breakdowns home, and the parts are worth something, repairables worth more.
I was just saying that trucks leased are usually fixed by someone if they are worth fixing. We do fix minor stuff bumpers and mirrors, and even a major deer hit taking hood and the rest of the front end can cost over 15 grand to fix pretty easily, those get done at a body shop and dealer, a hard collision cost around 50 grand and it got repaired.
One of ours got ditched in Indiana, and over 22 thousand damage and it's repaired and running again. Not sure how much it took to repair the turkey wagon he was pulling loaded.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Most people know not to touch that company unless last resort. This post isn't opening up anyone's eyes.

Any time you have exposed steel that hasn't been treated getting exposed to moisture you will have rust setting in shortly, especially on the body of these trucks since the zinc coating will have been rubbed off. I hauled a rollover back to the yard this winter and witnessed rust form on the side of the cab in just a few hundred miles.Chinatown Thanks this.
