    Fleetpride,
Remove belt, pull compressor, take it in, shouldnt be more than 400$

The ac vac and fill will be about 300$ at loves/ta

If you had tools at home, trucker ac, get part # and get it shipped to house, cost you 400$.

1k from the dealer better involve removal and installation

Dino soar and Rideandrepair Thank this.

A new clutch is a cheap and easy repair. It's better than a whole new compressor and accumulator.

Can you spin the compressor shaft? If its locked up you'll probably end up having to put a new compressor on it.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

A/C compressor clutches stopped being cheap or easy with the old York style compressor. It takes a couple special tools to get one off a Sanden. Every clutch I have ever priced for a sanden has been 350 and up. From seeing the pics, it’s problem goes way deeper than a clutch

And you can get a whole 1 peice compressor and clutch for 3-400 on its own anyway, so why bother with fighting just the clutch?

Do not forget to get a new dryer when you pick up the new A/C compressor, any time you break open the system you must replace the dryer its like the cleaner/ dampness filter for the A/C system.

And make sure to use green seals with the proper oil.

I know someone who thinks the black seals are all the same.

I do my own AC, but I’ll admit. Sometimes it’s worth it to take to a Dealership. Often one thing leads to another. The aggravation, and time spent, can really add up sometimes. Besides it’s covered for one year, Parts and Labor. With A/C especially, it can pay off. Assuming you can get in and out, and Keep Trucking.
