I've been pulling a box OTR since October and need something home weekends. I have a few ?'s that are important to me. Many thanks for your answers.
Are you treated like a person or a number?
Does Mav run a lot of the North East? (I live in TN if that makes any difference)
Are they cool about shutting down if you hit real bad weather?
I heard a lot of flatbed freight picks up and delivers ~ 9-5. Do you find yourself having any more of a consistant sleep schedule?

Maverick is always treated me very well ill always be called by name never a number.
Like the other gentleman said we do go the Northeast but very limited and we do have a rat division.
I myself basically work 6 AM to 8 PM give or take an hour to in either direction. Unless they pick up or delivery schedule dictates my time. 98% the time I have no problem staying on my work schedule.
If you like maverick half as much as I do you love it here. Don't get me wrong they will be times they will piss you off but that's trucking.
Wish you the best in whatever future decisions you make.capital j, ttownrunner, A_C_Cooper and 1 other person Thank this. -

as a RAT division driver from SE Kentucky, I don't get northeast very often, but the ones I've had were doozies.
I hardly miss a weekend when freight is moving normal, but this time of the year when it slows down, it's more hit or miss. (more miss than hit actually)
they have their quirks like anyone else, but all in all, I'm treated well here... and that's why I'm still here.
weather gets bad, park the truck. you don't get payed to set, but your not forced to run in bad weather.JimTheHut Thanks this. -
I've driven for 3 of the "monster" companies and of them, Maverick treated me better and with more respect than any.
As others have told you, you will get home most weekends, however don't expect a full two days. Some weekends you won't even get in a 34 hour restart, but some weeks you may get almost 3 days.
Living in Tn. you will get lots of freight running in and out of there, probably lots of shiney bar in and re-bar out.ttownrunner Thanks this. -
