A few questions I have before I sign with a "school"

For the record, providing he was actually talking about being a medical patient. This might only work in California. And thats still a might.

I'd wait the 90 days for your system to clean. Especially considering marijuana is illegal in the United States, even with a doctors note, it can still be considered use. Hence why you get DEA shutting down shops in Cali.

 

The way the hair test works is you hair grows at about 1/2 " a month. When you smoke or do a drug it makes a band around the strand. It's almost like the rings on a tree trunk. Go cut ALL your hair! Yes ALL of it! Head to toe!
As for "Medical Marijuana" it is still not allowed as a CDL holder. It's still a federal mandate.

I know if you were a cancer patient I can confess that it does work better than the chemical pain killers. But it is still a toss up as, unless you were actually prescribed the pot through a REAL doctor and not some "clinic" as it's done in Ca. because the world knows that it was a joke being called medical, but through a real pharmacy and you are actually handed a pack of pre rolled and tax stamped government issued licensed cigarettes with the printed pharmacy label on the pack, then I really would not push the "medical" part of the argument!

Be clean! If you still need to be using pot in place of a chemical pain reliever then stay parked! You do NOT need to be driving!

As a cancer survivor with 6 weeks of radiation and 5 chemos and 1 brain surgery I would HIGHLY recommend that you put down the pot, the pain meds and if you can't then find a different line of work!

I have, but not due to any meds. The brain surgery killed me driving. My "pot use" was a short period during the last 2 weeks of intensive radiation. It did work better than those prescribed pain meds which scare the heck out of me anyway! The Army with their liberal use of morphine in the early 70's caused a "problem" which has had me scared of any pain meds!

Anyway.

I would like to know the medical reasoning for the pot use.

If you need pain meds, as I said go elsewhere for a job because if you screw up one time and have an accident EVEN if it's NOT your fault and a lawyer finds out that you have or had any pain killer or pot or drug that has the "do not operate" tag on it in your system, you WILL become the focus of the law suit along with your company sitting there beside you as a codefendant, and it's NOT worth that!

I have been known to slam someone for asking the question about "drug tests."

I can give a "little" lee way with the medical use of pot. NOT the recreational use of it. The joke of Ca. and those"Clinics" is just that, a joke! The world knew it and so did CA but what the heck. They got away with it but you and I and everyone else knows that if you were to cross the state line into a non medical use state your arse was heading to jail if you had your "prescription" with you! The same will go with the urinalysis! Don't go and get a pre hire or a random with that joke of a prescription flowing through your system and attempt to make a point! It will be a failed test and the hoops you jump through to get it cleaned up on your record isn't worth the high. It will be a failed on that DAC/HireRight and that's a job killer for pretty much your life!

If you don't want to cut your locks then hey you don't want the job do you?
OH! It's up to the company as to what test they use. Hair costs more to do. Most just want the bottle filled up with the yellow stuff!Just hope they don't do the DNA test! That'll get you too even after those "cleaners"!

If you DO cut your hair and it's 10" long please donate to "Locks of Love" so a child can have hair while she undergoes the rigors of losing her real hair due to some really hard treatments!

AND to the rest of you out there especially the lady drivers, Short hair IS sexy! Would you all get a "trim" and donate 10" also? It's also easier to take care of in that truck!

 

Even with a medical marijuana card you will not be allowed to drive. As someone else stated, it's federal mandate. At trucking school in CA, they make sure you are well aware of this.

Marinols properly prescribed might possibly, and I stress possibly, be the only way you would ever get around that, and you obviously wouldn't be allowed to be on them anymore and probably jump through massive hoops to prove the whole thing. I'll have to ask my dad as he was prescribed them during chemo but he wasn't driving at the time and didn't drive for months still after he was off of them. Knowing him, he would of brought it up with the company to make sure everything was ok when he went back to work. Either way, that's not your situation.

 

cutting your hair will NOT save you, they WILL find a hair SOMEWHERE on your body....I forget where I heard the story probably on here, about the guy that did just that and they asked him to bend over so they could get a az$ hair and he left...thus failing the test

doctors note or not I would wait till i was 500% sure it was out of my system and I was going to pass, its not worth the risk of failing or explaining that you used drugs...legally or not.

Even on your toes! In the ears and nose! if it's on your hands then shave that too! You should be an exact copy of the wife or GF when they do NOT want any attenation! Thats how your body should feel! Like a nubb factory! You should be able to sand paint off the floor with your butt!
Those beard trimmers work pretty well from what I've been told! But still, as said above be 500% sure it is completely out of your system! Then do not ever be tempted to " take a hit" as Murphys Law says, if it will happen it will happen! You'll be at the medical center the next day donating for the cause!
