have you checked to make sure USX is hireing solos out of SC? Last I knew they were still only hireing teams in the southeast.
p.s I would work at McDonalds if I got to live in Myrtle Beach! I love it there.

Yea, I checked on that. They said they stopped doing that except for places like florida and maine. Yep, Myrtle Beach is nice. A little hard to keep your eyes on the road in the summer if you know what I mean. As far as USX, I might have to start on with them and when I am sure my mother can cut it on her own, see about WS. I don't like job hopping so I would atleast like to give the first company a year of my service. We'll see. Was it hard for you to make the transition into the trucking lifestyle when you first started? I like driving alot but sometimes when I have been on a trip over 6 or 7 hours I would notice myself getting a little sleepy. I'm thinking that once I get used to it that will subside. I also was worried that they would not give you enough time to deliver the loads but it sounds like, by your example, that may not be an issue and trukerdaddy said that they are understanding if you have to shut down because of weather. Maybe you could use your fame and influence to get a terminal openned up here in Myrtel Beach. LOL

It took me about the amount of time to take my keys from Tim's hand and walk to my truck!
But then Chompi calls me a trucking prodigy (sp?) I can't spell but I can drive anything with an engine! lol
Yea if they were to have one there, i would move there in a secound!
Oh ya we have plenty of time i'd say at least 35% time I deliver early whether it be 1 hour early or 6 days early.
I had a load from Albert Lea, MN to the Charlotte Area of NC Loaded Thursday at 3am they wanted it the NEXT Thursday or something like that I just laughed at the broker and said it'll be there tomorrow morning make sure they're ready for it! there was NO FREAKIN WAY I was going to sit on that little 14 hour drive of a load for 7 days!

That's great to know. I am pretty good at driving myself but I imagine a month or so behind the wheel I could get alot better.

by the time you get a month in, driving a truck will be just like driving a car well feel like it anyway. I hate driving my pickup now, its way to small lol.

When I'd stay out weeks at a time, I'd find that I drove my pick up slow and took the corners W-I-D-E. Didn't even realize it until one day my brother in law was with me, I went around a corner and he says why are you turning so far out? I had to laugh....Oh, and when you reach for the parking brakes on the dash you know you've been driving the semi too much..LOL
My wife hated when I was OTR and I came home and we went somewhere...not so much when I got the local gig. -
That is funny.

That is me exactly, I keep telling my wife I'm looking for my trailer.. She laughs.
