I am a soon to be student and have talked to Tracy in recruiting. ATS sounds good but being new I realize( esp. after reading many pages on this site) that I probably dont know the questions to ask. And I certainly dont have anyone to compare them to. Any info would be a great help. Thanks!

I've found that reading through a companies website, despite the fact that some of it is BS I'm sure, really helps me decide if they're a dependable company. pathfinder, I'm sure you've been to their website, yes? If not, check it out. The whole thing makes me drool!:biggrin_2553:

Yep, Rollie is still the boss out there.

Pathfinder: I dont know how the company is for a "company driver" but for a lease operator they have a great program.

MagicFingers: They are a really dependable company. I had great miles and made a truckload of $$$$ on my lease.

My husband drove for ATS in St Cloud, MN. He drove for them for a little over a yr. He was on the flatbed fleet. He had the greatest fleet manager. She made sure our family was taken care of and he got his miles and home time. When she was out for maternity leave, he got another fleet manager. Which sucked and caused him to quit. But other than that, the company was good. Their pay was fair, miles were good, home time was good. Oh and they had good trucks compared to other trucks. He was a company driver, but it is a good company. JUST get a GOOD driving manager! and stay AWAY from "opie" (if you go to work for them and get him, you will know!

My husband was with ATS in the flatbed fleet and loved it until his Driving manager changed b/c the GOOD ONE went on maternity leave! She was the bomb! The new one wasnt so good. IF you change to flatbed, dont get "opie" he isnt worth 2 cents. Oh and BTW..if you go o/o or lease you will go back to St Cloud, for at least 3-4 days, with a classroom of other people, and get to choose from used company trucks. You will pick out your truck in order of preference then the "higher ups" will pull numbers out of a hat to see which truck they get, that is unless they have changed their lease program sense Feb. Hope this may help you make your mind up. AT least you are with a good company.

Go with ATS...they are a great starter company and really a good one to stay with. I mean all companies have their ups and downs it just seemed that ATS had more ups than downs.

Tracy was my husbands recruiter! He drove flat bed for them and liked it alot until he changed driving managers.
Until that, he got good miles, and good pay, and home time.
They over all are a good company.

Quanman, I have gotten home everytime I have asked. Yes, you should ask to be home the day BEFORE you actually need to be home, because you may deliver on the day you want to be home. But they have gotten me home on the day requested everytime. And got me home from WV to MN for an emergency, and this was only two weeks in!
