Currently finishing up my 3 week course here in lovely Marshfield, WI. The school was above and beyond my expectations. This outfit is well run. I learned to do something I was not sure I could.
I would do this all over again if I had to.
We will get hired on by Roehl on Friday after the test on Thursday. This is a wonderful area of Wisconsin - Marshfield. The facilities are clean and well kept. The driving range is huge and well laid out. The people at the school are unbelievable!
And the Wisconsin people are as friendly as you will find anywhere.
This has been a GREAT experience. I am very glad I decided to do this, and to come here.

    Howdy,

Thank you for all of your posts about your experiences at Roehl's school.
    I enjoyed reading.

I am giving Roehl strong consideration, but was wondering what requirements they place on your personal MVR.

I am in the process of obtaining my CDL learners permit and was hoping you could provide some insight on what companies to stay away from.

I have 3 moving violations in the last 3 yrs, all for speeding, the latest in 9/07.

    No tickets since then.

I was all set to go with Schneider, until they turned me down for the tickets.
    Same with Star and Crete/Shaffer.

Werner and Covenant welcome me with open arms, however I have read some bad stuff about both on this site.

Any helpful info is GREATLY appreciated.

    All the best to you.

They are very fussy about who they let drive for them. And if you screw up when you are with them it does take much to get fired. Safety is all they talk about. I think you might want to wait a year or so to let some time go by.

their requirements are listed somewhere. Accidents and tickets are a problem if you want to drive for any decent carrier.

    Good luck to you.

Thanks. I will call Roehl tomorrow to clarify their requirements.

    As for my MVR-no accidents.
    1 improper turn in 12/05
    1 speed 18MPH over in 3/07
    1 spped 18MPH over in 9/07.

Any thoughts on Werner or Covenant?

    Thanks again.

your best bet is to do some searches in the good/bad company sections of this forum. personally i haven't heard the best of reviews about werner, and i haven't really read anything about covenant. but on the other hand to get your foot in the door somewhere helps even if its not with one of the best companys out there.

Heartland doesn't accept newbies...US Xpress accepts anyone that can fog a mirror up, hope that helps.
