The problem is, if you spec a truck for that weight, it will be too heavy for a lot of regular type freight. I'd suggest you make #### sure you have access to these loads and then find the truck.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to start step/flat. Go from there. That is what I know best.

Good idea. A truck spec for Flat/Step is not the same as HH. A HH truck can do it, but you will deal with unnecessary weight issues.

I suppose you have a pretty good point there. I guess I was trying to kill two birds with on stone. I'd still like some power and such, but I could probably settle with a 13 for now, and possibly just move up from there.

Find yourself a 3 axle 379 with 475-500HP and a 13 speed. You will have no problem hauling a 55 ton Mech or Hydraulic RGN.

I've hauled 92k with a 379 475cat and a 13 and had little to no problems at all. I guess I'm more so trying to see what the more experienced guys have to say about it. I know so much less than most out here.

A good simple truck like that, and say a 3 axle Step will go far. With that combination you can legally permit for 93,500 lbs and not kill your equipment or wallet.

I am looking at a new set up for myself and here is what I have come up with....

3 axle tractor with a tag 475 hp or above
tandem flatbed with a front drop axle and a rear tag axle.

I run 5-6 states regionally so I can license this for 105,500 in each state and not have to worry about weight permits.
