This concerns me...Why?
if this is true..... WHY? Why can a potential owner-operator ONLY have the option in driving THEIR truck as a lease purchase?
I'll tell you why....... Control.
They want complete control of your operatiuon..Everything,From Where you Fuel,To where you get things repaired...That's NOT an owner-operator..Not Sure What to call it but.....You might as well just drive their truck.
If Im wrong here...I'd like to know Why an owner-operator with hs own truck and business plan CANNOT Lease on with Schneider
A good opportunity for the right o/o?

They do have a number of people that actually own the truck they have leased on with. I know quite a few of them.
at this time, they are not signing on any more of them to the choice program. maybe later as the need arises, they will again. It really is their program and they can dictate the criteria to gain access to that program. At this time, they choose to not have any more owned trucks signed on. Could be as simple as they want to clear out trucks the have in inventory.
as far as the service, repairs and fuel, schnieder has no restrictions in place. Again I know a number of people in the program, some own the trucks, others are doing the lease thing. not one is resrticted to a specific place or required to use any schnieder facility for any reason.
True, they do have service, parts and a fuel program that any one leased on to them can use. The tire program is actually a good deal. You get schnieders pricing, when you have thousands of trucks on the road you get a good price.
If you have all your own equipment, authority and insurance, you could run Schnieder logistics freight. they do have some power only loads, most are live load/unload. rates are pretty good from what I have seen.Last edited: Dec 17, 2016

I wouldn't recommend anyone coming to Schneider choice right now.
The board is loaded up mostly cheap freight now with a few good ones here and there.
I know guys that are leaving just after a few months.
Fuel discount yeah sure lol granted its better than nothing .
Sad thing is this WAS a great place to be.
There's only one type of person I would say it's worth giving it a shot here.
DEBT FREE might be able to weather the storm.
And I would caution them that the way things are going it's going to be long while before thing turn around if at all.
Personally I think they only want drivers that don't know any better than to run all their cheap freight.
Somebody made a joke not to long ago and used the term COMPANY CHOICE.
I don't think it's actually to far from truth.Last edited: Dec 18, 2016

I hate terms like "doing well". To one guy, doing well might be 1200 a week after immediate expenses, to another guy that's so pathetically low, they won't start their truck for that.
JimmyWells and driverdriver Thank this.
