If you want a good paying local, look into
10 Roads Express. They mainly run US Mail and have relay points where you switch trailers. Some driver make the actual postal pickups and deliveries. They also have Fly in Drivers. They fly you to where they need help and pay per diem, hotel costs and more. They pay pretty well and for ALL of your time as it’s hourly with bonuses. Made good money with my time there, was my favorite company job.
A little help please! I have the itch to go OTR from local.

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to reply and give excellent feedback. I'm currently looking at United Rangers Trucking, TMC, Walmart, and possibly 10 Roads Express. I forgot how much of a pain in the butt it is to fill out so many job applications lol.
JolliRoger, Lonesome, Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
If you're in DFW take a look at Climate Express....they have the running lanes you'd like and hella Dallas freight.RockinChair, Lonesome, TexasTea76 and 1 other person Thank this.

I am at Fremont, and often enough I run alternating weeks of nearly 4k, and 3k miles. I also try to get myself into a position where I HAVE to restart. The only real limitations here come from the customers. Before the market took a dump, I used to pretty reliably run between 41 and 42k one week, then 3200ish the next. Just bouncing back and forth from Omaha area to CA, WA, or Oregon. Occasionally would run from CA to NJ. The west coast freight has REALLY fallen off, but my mileage hasn't changed all that much. I just have to work a bit harder to make it happen.JolliRoger Thanks this.

Hey, I'm not sure if you found something, but I spoke with a 10 Roads Express recruiter about the fly-in positions; after talking with a recruiter they looked way less appealing...only 1 check bag reimbursed, no minimum guarantee (and most routes are 40hrs/wk or less so not enough hours...you'd probably be doing a lot of sitting if doing a fly-in position), different truck everytime you fly out (could be sleeper or daycab, if daycab then you'll have to hassle with being put in a motel every night and spend time/money on that).
But, because I've worked for them before I do enjoy the home daily positions...except for whenever USPS (because 10 Roads is a sub-contractor for USPS) snatches a route back from 10 Roads at anytime. The you'll be left looking for another route within 10 Roads or looking for another job like I did. -
What is your location? Or did I miss that?

Me, or OP?

Op
though I just noticed his user name was Texas tea so maybe I should of waited for the coffee to kick in before posting -
For what it's worth, everytime I get the itch to go back otr on the company side, I take a trip to a major truck stop and use the bathroom.
Its a harsh reminder many other truckers see disgusting slobs. I hated running hard, finally shutting down and walking into a stall with feces everywhere but in the toilet.dave01282000 and lual Thank this.
