These companies bluff you into thinking you need them when the truth of the matter is Drivers they need you, are you tired of running your butt off and living in a truck and then have some punk in a office talk to you like he is so much better than you, and your are beneath him, well hold your head high Drivers you are of a special breed, and the truth of the matter is a company can own 3 trucks or 30,000 trucks but they are worth anything without drivers, can you only Imagine a company with 500-1000 drivers or more if everyone of those drivers showed up at their company on a monday morning and refused to make any pickups or deliverys till they had a meeting of the minds with top company brass you can bet they are gonna listen, and bet ya those drivers get what there asking for, better pay, better benifits, better whatever.... it is all about sticking together, that is what has to happen to make a difference in this Industry.no matter what the name is on the door, botton line is all of the drivers do the same job,and put up with the same old bull, it's 2011 and way over do for us all to unite ! I pray and hope this is the years we as Drivers take our Industry BACK ! :yes2557:

You are so right! Drivers are running "scared" because companies keep holding DAC over their heads and I would certainly refuse to go through life living in fear. When you get away from LTL and look at the truck load carriers, most of them resemble a "plantation with slaves". Until drivers organize, unite and get a backbone, this will continue.

Drivers allow a "ball and chain" to be put on their legs and they can force the companies to take the "leg shackles" off, but it is going to take some "guts".

I personally will not drive for less than .40 per mile with a minimum of $ 1200.00 per week. And that is where I draw the line. I have had job offers and I tell the owner what I will accept. Not any thing less. you have to look at it this way. at 750 logged miles per day # .40 cpm you are making $ 27.00 bucks per hour over an 11 hour shift. You are not being paid over time and the OTR life is not easy. And if you actually keep track of the hours you are actually performing work it will be more like 90 hours a week. Do not sell your self short. Demand what your worth.
