Everyone needs to vent but to report them as a bad company?

One thing I keep hearing about making high paychecks you have to either stay out for about a month or get a job that involves more that just driving and opening the trailer doors. Most drivers choose to stay out longer and let the extent of there physical activity be door opening and tandem sliding.

So... dragging hose in Illinois is hurting people. What about those who did the same in the Tx/Ok/Nm oilfields, in full FR, respirators etc...

Or throwing chain in Az... or sweeping out a grain wagon at noon in southern Florida.

Pay attention to your physical condition and stay safe.

I used to load people's house hold goods on rented frieght trailers. Most moving trailers have doors all along the sides you can open for ventilation, not frieght trailers! Not sure how hot it got in those trailers, but walking out into the July summer heat felt like walking into a/c. Also if you touched the metal roof it would burn you

I do this daily. Mostly Texas and Oklahoma. Yes, it's hot. Like you said, you need to be in good shape to handle it. Climbing on top of trailers several times a day to open/close hatches and dragging hoses is not for everyone. We go thru quite a few drivers who thought they could handle it. It's no big deal to move on to something else if you can't. No hard feelings. We don't need anyone getting hurt out here.

Lord knows this job is dangerous enough as it is. Just being on a location where they are pumping hundreds of thousands of pounds of sand and water into the ground at nearly 10,000 pounds of pressure is not the safest thing in the world. Let alone the heat and heavy clothing/respirator/hard hat deal.

    Cottonmouth85 Thanks this.

I posted the initial message in the wrong category. A and R is an excellent company. I've always been treated fairly.

Yeah when your standing out in the sun loading and unloading in the texas heat with coveralls or a plastic monkey suit and mask. Then you may have something to howl about.
