Phoenix is OK. I've hauled many loads of acid from the East Coast to Fuji Film & also asphalt plants in Phoenix & suburbs. Thought about relocating to Phoenix, but will probably go to Nevada because no personal income tax in Nevada.

    Unless things have changed,

MCT s NOT a typical new driver company.

They are an O/O outfit, and you will be working for a small fleet owner.

They are alot better than most of your other choices of employment.

    unless things have changed there,

you have a better chance at success than many new drivers.......

Your company will only teach you enough to get you behind the wheel. It is up to you to do the rest. CYA is a term for you because when you are out there on your own and backing into a tight spot. Your fm is not going to be there to eye it for you. As drivers we are responsible for everything on that truck when it is on the road. It is up to us to make sure we keep on our toes that we are not being put out of service for something that we have control over or having an accident because we want to cut corners. I just got my Class A and awaiting to go to orientation to my company. I am exicited but nervous at the same time. As far as health goes, I started with a 2 year card and now I have a 1 year card because I have type 2 diabetes. I feel I have had to jump through hoops to prove that I am ok to drive. The one doc never batted an eye over my diabetes. The doc that I had to go to for my company physical questioned my diabetes, I had to go back to my pcp and get a hga1c done just to get a 1 year card. I am a borderline diabetic who has lost over 20 pounds to boot. This is what I was referencing to in my first post. I am not trying to scare you. This forum is for info for drivers to help other drivers and even ones going for their class A. Do not give up. anything worthh having is never easy. I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you for the replies everyone, I'm taking every single one of them to heart and thinking deeply upon what you all say. 123456, it's good to know MCT is a good place to start and yes, they still operate like that.
