I know some small engine people rag on the E series briggs engines but with good maintenance they really are good engines if you catch them before death .
Extremely easy to work on , parts are cheap ...they'll never be L head engines but who cares cause they're cheap to start with .

Bought this one 6-7 years ago at an auction for very reasonable, had it 2 years, engine blew. It has a horizontal shaft in that engine, with the blade clutch on the back. Needed something pretty quick, so I bought a new engine at a discount place that had a couple. Paid more for just the engine than I had to for the whole bleeping machine 1st time around! Oh well, it’s been running great ever since! Oh, and after it got cold, I tore the old engine apart, and got it running again, sold it on Marketplace for $900.00. I was content
