Good to know about the hiring and the issued firearm. I'm dusting off and updating my resume and spotting scope.

 

That might be why it's called " Concealed Carry". Only dopes walk around with their weapon on their side. Any advantage of surprise is gone. You are just asking to be dry gulched and have it taken away. And there are around 800,000 concealed carry permits in TX. So just because you don't see them I wouldn't assume they are not close by.

 

I beg to differ about open versus concealed carry. I believe the police do too since they open carry as well.

When you have multiple people in a location open carrying it's a serious deterrent to trying anything with anyone.

This is all beside the point and for a different thread though.
My point was that as far as gun friendly states go Texas is nowhere near the top like they think they are. I would be surprised if they were even ranked in the top 20!
Don't get me wrong, I'm loving Texas but they are nowhere close to the gun state they think they are! You prove my point with your attitude about open carry...it's very anti-gun and anti Second Amendment...which does not mention needing a permit to enjoy your RIGHTS.

NV is not that far away. take off anytime. We don't need lectures from those from who would elect scum like Harry Reid and then preach to us about guns or anything else American.

 

Quit making a big deal out of it. I didn't lecture, I simply said that Texas ISN'T the gun state that it thinks it is...and your take on open carry is proof of how unfriendly Texans actually are in regards to guns as opposed to other states.

I'd say it's somewhere in the middle....very different from it's reputation!

Apparently though you DO need to be told about guns, since you don't seem to know!

FWIW there are only SIX states where open carry is NOT legal...Texas is one of them...
