Just poor organization. It needed to be national, and it could have been very effective.
-
I think that its been pretty decent for the publicity that its gained. I wouldn't say that its a non event when the news all over the country is bringing it to the public and the governments attention.
-
i would not even bother with "bob" he/he/it is just here to stir up crap.....check out every post he/she/it's made...just propaganda.......thank god for my virtual squelch knob...aka ignore list!

Just watched Fox
They are calling it a slow down
Not a strike
And a promo hinting at the public being unhappy about it
Might just be hype to get people to watch the nine news -
SO FAR SO GOOD WE ARE IN THE NEWS, AND THAT IS WHAT WE NEED.
NOW WHEN WE GO BACK TO WORK THE THING THAT MUST BE DONE IS NO ONE PICK UP A BROKER LOAD THAT IS PAYING UNDER $1.50 PER MILE!!!!!!!
YOU ALL KNOW HOW IT WORKS SHIPPER PAYS BROKER $1500.00 TO MOVE A LOAD. SAME BROKER WILL ONLY PAY TRUCK $600.00
THIS IS WHAT WE NEED TO FOCUS ON. I WILL DEADHEAD HOME TO GET ANOTHER LOAD FIRST. I ONLY USE THE $##*&%! BROKERS FOR BACK HAULS ANYWAY. IF WE CAN GET ALL TRUCKS ON THE SAME PAGE AND NOT HAUL THOSE LOADS, THE PRICES THEY ARE PAYING US WILL GO UP.
OR THE BROKERS "WILL" GO OUT OF BUSINESS CUZ THE SHIPPERS WILL STOP USING THEM. AND USE SOMEONE THAT CAN GET THEIR LOADS MOVED. DO YOU AGREE OR NOT????
Sorry about all caps did not notice till I was done. -
Kilroy, you're working with the wrong brokers. I'm one of those *#$&#%^# brokers you speak of, billing a customer $2150 for a load loading Thursday from Grand Rapids to Fayetteville and paying the truck $1875...
O/O calls me and wants $2100, quick pay, and for me to carry the receivable for 3 months.
Can't win. Sorry, but the blame lies on both sides.
BTW- that's 13% profit and $2.42/mile to the truck.
$^&$%^#% brokers... -
Keep your heads up folks! It's still on the news!
The issue had not gathered public attention before this, so I think that you guys have been very successful in bringing attention to this important issue. -
I have to agree, this is the first time I've seen this much news coverage on a truckers strike. I was alive in the 70s but was a teenager and then a young mother so I don't remember that one?
-
Obviously, you will only consider it an event if someone is killed or violence breaks out? I feel that the ones who do have the cojones to park are just the first few dominoes to fall ... you must understand that sometimes it takes a little patience to get results...wait and see...National attention has been drawn to this issue and yesterday Congress had BIG OIL in the hotseat asking them what to do!!!
