I have been to Laredo quite a bit. I will haul a load from Lancaster and take it to a forwarder. I will either drop the trailer at a forwarder, or they will offload the freight and put it in a trailer that goes to Mexico. Based on my experience, Dicex is always an offload, and Palos Garza is always a drop. I will then pick up a trailer at the FFE yard that is loaded with candy and take it to Detroit, Edwardsville or Palmyra. I had an Ogden load once but I had to give it up due to a maintenance issue. Now that I am familiar with Laredo, I like it quite a bit. The truck stops get very, very busy, but that is to be expected. Beware of the potholes in front of the T/A and Flying J. They fix them all the time, but they keep coming back. I was there two weeks ago and half the street was closed due to construction. Getting in and out of the truck stops was a cluster.

Wow, that means you were there about a month ago by the date on your post I just left there the other day and there is still construction going on what a cluster f##k between the fj & ta
My year has come and gone.. still here but probally not for to much longer, might see about doing ltl its the only thing that seems to pay here.I'm about done with their otr tl the pay per mile just sucks and I won't lease or train not worth being out here other than the experience anymore. -
I'm at the FFE yard in Laredo right now. I unload on Monday, but I am going to see if I can get someone else to shag it for me while I take a load out of here tomorrow. There are about 15 trailers here waiting to go. I checked all of the bills and most are going to Edwardsville or Canada. I don't mind going to Detroit as long as they have something waiting for me when I get there.

They just had me leave Laredo bobtail to Pharr and pickup mt trl that's been sitting at W&B ref. and I'm taking it to Lancaster easy run so I can get trk looked at having problem with right steer tire.
Hate going there but something is wrong and needs to be fixed before I pull a loa d again. -
Easy runs are always nice.
I have not been to McAllen (Pharr) yet. Back in December I picked up a load of hams in Smithfield, VA that were headed to Mexico via McAllen. Somebody wanted them really bad because when I got to the plant they practically stopped everything and loaded me right away. I drove it to Atlanta and a team finished the run to Texas. I think hams must be a big deal in Mexico during Christmas. -
I live close to pharr only 10mins away

Most of meat loads go to the government in mexico most of them pay the money for it like businessman and local officals for them must paid good money for that

How are y'all doing on fuel mileage? I recently ran from OK City to Schuyler, NE (515 miles) empty, then down to Dodge City,Kn (366 miles) loaded with 43,315 for an average of 7.1mpg. I then ran from there to El Paso,Tx (513miles) still loaded with 43,315 for an avg of 7.2mpg. The 7.2mpg is a rough est. as I have yet to fill back up.

I'm a company driver so I just fuel and go don't really pay to much attention to it. On another note it looks like the kllm buy out is starting to take effect in Dallas as of Nov all tl will be out of miss.
Lancaster will stay just a ltl yard they allready have started to notify people working upstairs and permit dep.and probally other departments when they will be let go.
