I just got done swimming thru the CARB website. Edited my truck info for the "Good Faith" extension. The whole time all I could think was what a total joke and a waste of tax payer dollars this CARB crap is. Let the EPA do there job, and throw CARB out the window.

I have read that also.Don't care to go to California anymore, but if I did, does that mean you can go in the ports, etc. with a 95 truck?Or is that something different?

I hate to seem like an a-hole here but I feel I have to correct something. When CARB talks about year models they are talking about ENGINE model years not trucks. Engines are usually a year older than the truck they are in. For example my 06 pete has an 05 CAT C-15 in it. By the way they have started pulling trucks over at the rest areas and bug checks. It is true, a 94 or 95 engine model year is exempt until 2016. The ports have their own clean air rules and they are actually tougher that the state. JUst because CA says a 95 is good until 2016 you still cant get on the port unless you have a PTO

That's true...A lot of people bought '07's thinking they would be compliant....Many '07's still had '06 engines in them....

And btw...CARB is not just about engines....
LRR Tires...Skirts....Non-motorized APU's...Are in the mix as well and will be required shortly as well....

Well, today my driver passed the Conejo scales on the 101 North and then 101 South in Thousand Oaks...no ARB, no blue Dodge Rams checking for non-compliant trucks.
Any one pass the Castaic scales on I-5 today?

So has anyone been pulled aside by ARB for an inspection?

You could just register your truck in Mexico, I'm sure California has an exemption for anything coming up from Mexico. That's what CA does best, bend over for the aliens, but then stick it to honest, hard working citizens. No wonder so many have already left that state.

Well...Ran 91...710...Into the Port and Long Beach....
I saw old trucks yanking around low-sides...And even COE's from the 70's and 80's pulling "Cans"....

Where's CARB....Are they like the CHP and can't put down their "mandatory" coffee and doughnuts?
