I apologize for posting here, but I couldn't find a more appropriate section.
I am starting the training process and I need 10 years of DMV printouts. I have lived in Nevada for 2.5 years, so getting the 3 year report from them is easy.
Before that, it was about 5 years worth of Florida license. Now, I found many places to order a Florida printout, if you know your driver's license number. Well, I had to turn that license in when I got the NV one, and I did not have the foresight to write down the FL #. Is there a relatively painless to look up old DL#'s? FL only get me back to about 7.5 years, I have to go to MI for the rest of it, and of course, I don't have that number either.
Thanks!
Michael

Don't suppose you tried calling the Florida/Michigan DMVs?
-
Thats what I would do... Call the DMV in Florida & Michigan. Tell them what you want. Give them information like address, DOB, SS#?, and what ever they request.
They will probably print a copy & send to you for a fee... -
I did the homework for you. It's now up to you to make the calls. The first link is for Michigan DMV & the second Link is for Florida DMV.

Both links should take you to the web page that you need. I hope I don't get in trouble for posting links... I know some links are a NO NO. -
Well, so sorry I didn't clog my initial post with all the boring details of my search. As I said, I have found many places to order a printout, but they all required my DL#, INCLUDING the lady I talked to at FL DMV. Perhaps she didn't know what she was talking about, but she told me something about privacy, and protecting information, and that just having a SS# wasn't going to get me a printout. She told me they required the license number.
When I mentioned to her that their own website stated that DL# was requested, if known, she replied that as far as she knew, you needed the DL#. Perhaps it is different if you request by mail, which is what the website details.
And, directly from the Michigan website referenced above:
For a driving record, you will need to provide your Michigan driver's license number, full name, and date of birth.
So, as to my original question, does anyone know how to track down an old DL#?
Thanks,
Michael -
Ok... Possibly perform a background check on yourself? I know my driving record has shown up on background checks that have been done on me. Or maybe find a officer in Nevada & ask him to run your current DL to see if it is linked to your other DL from the other states?

Try your old car insurance company?
-
Yes, if you can't find any old records from your past insurance information, then just go down to your local courthouse, DMV and bring ID and ask them for help on this and advice. And also your current insurance agent will know also how to help you get the current 411 on all you need. Now if those two can't nobody can. But in the worst case, an attorney can, but of course you know what he'll charge to make all the calls and faxes. But do try those others first. In person if you can. I am sure they will help you guy. Best of luck.
Baack Thanks this. -
I have to do the same thing for CA. They want me to go and get fingerprinted and then send those into them before they will send me my past DMV - sounds like a PITA to me.

If I remember right all the DMV's are all linked together on a national database so just get a 10 year from your current state. It should include all states you carried a license in for the last ten years.
Anyone know if this is correct? (first post w00t!)
