I am currently subleasing a truck from an associate, the truck is being financed in my associates name. I have a power of attorney to operate the vehicle but all the truck docs are in his name (registration, 2290...and such). I have applied with LandStar's lengthy application process and have been "prequalified", I received a 47 page email from them of forms to submit, unfortunately its Saturday and I cant ask anyone at LandStar if they will allow me to come on with this SubLeased vehicle. Can anyone help me with some information????

my guess would be you'll have to have the buddy to do the paperwork. since the truck is in his name and he's the operating authority.

i thought about that idea at one point and time. so it be interesting to hear some responses that actually know the answer to your question.

I dont think you situation would be a problem, one of the email pages should be a release of revenue that will have to be filled out by the actual owner, basically states that your settlements can go to you. I also think it needs to be notarized. I am not 100% positive but you should be fine, there is also a landstar forum here that you could look through, I believe its only about 147 pages or so, good luck to you

Not a big deal. There are a couple specific forms you have to fill out, just ask your recruiter. It's no different than all the BCO's that have trucks leased from Lone Mountain or similar places.

I emailed this link to my LS Regional Manager (and he responded on a weekend). In short what he said they will review it and what they won't take is a Ryder or Penske type lease or rental. He said to ask yourself at the end of the day is it really just a rental or does it have a path to ownership or a traditional financial company lease.

You need to get a TTR Internet GPS. Sure it cost 3x what a normal Internet GPS costs but it is designed specifically for trucking based internet sites.
