How many of you have ever, or think you could drive the old Mack with the double shifters?

I'd like to think I've been able to master any machine I've used. I'm sure if I was shown how, I could. But why would you want too?:biggrin_2559:

I'd have fun trying. Actually never drove an old Mack with sticks, but have driven 4 and 4's and 5 and 4's. I believe the old Mack with "mixing sticks" was a different set up.

I would love to learn how to drive twin stick and get good with one, especially because I prefer older trucks...

I dont consider myself a super trucker so please dont think thats why i am adding to the thread. In answer to your question i would be excited to try to drive any of those old style setups. i like old classic trucks and would like to maybe one day buy and restore an old mack or kw so if someone was willing to teach me how to drive it i would jump at the chance. the question now is how many people that know how to drive them would be willing to teach?

What a GREAT attitude from an 'oldtimer' toward a new driver! That's the way trucking used to be and oughta still be. Hats off to you, Allow Me.

We had one on our farm as a grain truck. Once you get use to it, not that hard at all.
