Are there any drivers that work for these two companies that can give me honest feedback on them? I like tankers because of the pay and seriously want a rider program. I have pneumatic experience and liquid, both food grade and chemicals. I'm just wondering if they treat drivers well and can make at least $1300 a week. I know its opening pandoras box but the threads on here get cloudy with lazy drivers or overdemanding expectations from drivers. I'm trying to keep from getting blindsided by recruiters when I start talking to them and sure don't want any suprises. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DMAX66 currently works for A & R Transport. He's given me very good information about them. Check out his thread, there's good information there!

A&R has a rider program and the insurance is only $25 a month. You should have no problem making over $1300 a week if your planning to be a system driver (OTR) I typically make $1200-$1300 a week working five days a week running regional and being home almost every night. I know a few guys that run the system and make over $1500 a week.

Have you thought to ask a recuirter to put everything he tells you in writing to avoid blindsides?

It isn't worth the paper its wrote on. Lets face it, this is one problem that has plagued this industry for the 25 years i've been in it and has never been fixed. This greatly effects recruiting and retention, always has and always will. I prefer to here from drivers, not a recruiter who has never drove. It is entertaining to say the least. It would be nice to think that would work but after being around a long time in this industry I'm very jaded at this point.

Everything is still going pretty good. I just had my one year anniversary with the company in November. I have been happy with the money I have made so far, and have really started to like running dry bulk. Yes you would be able to go home every night when training if you live near your terminal. For training you will do local runs and be back to the terminal each night. I mostly run regional so I have not been to Charlotte, but I have heard it is a nice terminal.
