Well, Melton is a flatbed only company, expect a lot of tarping and sweat. If you are laid back (or lazy), this company may not be your best choice. Equipment is top notch, no doubt. You get reimbursed for showers (1 per day) as the company cares about your professional image. The company takes load securement very seriously. They are also intolerant to logbook violatons. Freight is slow right now, but it is mostly due to the season and the whole economy. If you work smart and know how to get a long, you should get over 2800 miles per week during steady season; over 1500 during the slowest month of the year. They will treat you with more respect than any other big company such a Covenant, Werner, US Xpress...etc. My overall experience has been positive. :biggrin_25519:

13 spd is a piece of cake, drive it like a 9 spd but you have an extra half speed on the upper gears. If you aren't heavy or on a hill just drive it like a 9. You'll take a road test like on the second day or so but you should be able to deal with it no problem.
