This is a reality check. There never has been or ever will be a driver shortage. There has been and always will be a shortage of people willing to work under horrible working conditions and bad pay. The trucking industry is based on greed. That is why the DOT/ICC was started and the Teamsters. Do you really think that good drivers would quit if we had good pay and working conditions? Pay me and treat me like an arline pilot and see what happens! BOOM!!!! Automatic waiting list where only the best get in. Safety would also skyrocket. BUT, it would cost more than what people are willing to pay. All the other posts confirm this what with cheap labor and all. WHY O WHY do we import truck drivers?
