I'm glad you started this thread and thank you!
I specifically picked this career ref I knew it would be a great fit based on my personality. Most things I did well...backing was NOT one of them. Truck Angels (male, female, young and old) would come out the woodwork to either assist or haul ### so, I wouldn't hit them, lol. I kindly thank them for their help and let them know that I have to practice in order to get better. I am much better today and proud that it only takes me 1hr vs 2hrs to back that thing up.....just kidding!
Everything I know about trucking came from a trucker, of course. I have a binder FULL of tips and tricks about..you name it. So many times when I thank them do you know what they say? "Just pass what you've learn along".Whoa! Who says stuff like that?
I will use this platform to say THANK YOU to all the Truck Angels out there!Dreamboat and The Patriot Thank this. -

Truck Angels. I like that.
I totally believe in truck angelsDreamboat Thanks this. -
Some women do get into the industry thinking they'll meet men. IDK how hard it could be for them out there on the ground if they think being in a truck makes it easier? Is this a new angle? Anywho. Shame on them for acting frail and stupid to meet men and give *us women* a bad name. (That's correct. I'm not a dude!)
I'll be the one flipping off your GoPro if you laugh at me trying to dock! And no, you can't do it for me. I'll get it after cursing at the truck a while, breathing, and reassessing. I'm not happy until I've figured out how to do something half-asleep, in the dark, and starting from a near-impossible setup.
I chose this career based on my interests, abilities and mechanical aptitude, plus 30 years of driving experience, no DUIs and no criminal background. I figured somebody had to value that. Oh and my trucker "vocabulary"
which makes me less fit for all-day customer service professions. LOL. I wonder if this road grime will come out in the wash?
Eh, who cares.
