Hell, I love autoshifts. Anything that makes my job easier is fine with me. Trucking is challenging enough dealing with moron 4 wheelers, traffic, fleet managers, shippers, receivers, DOT, and truck stops. I welcome even the slightest convenience.

No actually not, it's specifically because they can't find enough drivers capable of driving a manual without wrecking the thing.

I think zombies would be an improvement. From what I understand they eat brain's,then go searching for more brain's. The yahoos I'm witnessing these days seem to think the less brain's the better.

I like your idea I'd like to make one adjustment, you have to be capable of doing 3 18 hour days in a row, or at least 16.

All for hiring folks that don't wreck. I seriously doubt the shifter has a #### thing to do with the idjit Swift in the other thread ripping a hood off. Pretty sure they still run a stick. Didn't help him huh?

Hell no. I personally thing they should drop the hours not increase them.

It's a shame that it takes the nanny state to have to pass laws such as these. I am mature enough to know when I need to shut down due to fatigue. Unfortunately, there are people out there that would push the envelope.

You want a 9 to 5 job you need a different job, you're hundreds or thousands of miles from home you might as well be making money instead of sitting on your ### in #### truck stop.

Really, you think hiring people who can't drive a stick has nothing to do with their ability to drive?

In the grand scheme of things no.

As I told the other guy I am far more concerned with them hitting stuff, namely me, and a general lack of driving skills like lane control, spacial awareness, speed and timing.....

Teaching a monkey to move the stick in a pattern has not slowed the influx of people lacking those skills. Therefore using technology to shift to me is a non-issue.

Removing idiots that bend stuff should be the priority IMO.
