Not really. I rarely run up against anything on my last day.. During the week maybe I run up the 14, but my last day is usually 10 or less.

 

HAHAHAHAHAHA They tried bringing in lower pay guys. It blew up in their faces, and still is.

Like it or hate it the model is changing. The days of OTR where folks live in their trucks weeks on end are numbered.

 

They arrived 30 years ago and continue so like a ####ing plague

 

Really?

They didn't relay freight from one part of the country to the other back in those days, OTR existed then as it does now but with less trucks. A lot of large quantity items moved by rail, like from large manufactures but that was a different type of freight and it still moves by rail.

As for rail, we don't have the lines that can haul the freight that is being hauled by truck, we would need to build a lot of rail lines to start impacting the trucking industry.

 

Do you know what OTR is?

It isn’t always running California to Jersey and back.
It’s also running freight from here to there and picking up near there and going over yonder and then picking up nearby and delivering way over there.
And then after 2 or 3 or more weeks they find a load to get the driver home.

I haven’t read where Swift and Crete are changing anything so it looks like OTR will be here for a long time.

 

And we know you wouldn’t want to be away from home like other drivers.

Everyone is different.

Have you ever met someone’s wife or children and you cannot understand why they would stay with someone so awful?
