I inflamed a disk in my back. Never knew I had the problem for 10 years until now. Any recommendations on how to manage the pain while in the road

Nsaids, ice. Exercise , walking is one of the best for almost all back issues. Stretching as well.

Google will link you to videos to show you the proper way. Move your wallet to your front pocket.

    Always check your posture.
I've had back surgery from an injury . And just recently started ddpy it has helped tremendously.

Posture is important..especially while driving. Set your seat straight vertical. And move your seat up and forward as comfortably possible.

    Luck in battle.

Inflamed and herniated are 2 different things, I know, but I had to have surgery on C5 when it ruptured.

    - CONSULT A DOCTOR - No one here knows what you truly need.

I'm assuming by your until now comment you have seen a doctor. If so follow that doc's recommendations carefully. However, sitting for hours can do a lot of damage. Get plenty of exercise Main thing though is making sure you are under a doctors care.

Do you have any stress in your life?
Most all back pain is in your head.

You can do anything that does not involve narcotics any form of THC (Pot, CBO etc) and so on.

That means heating pad, Cooling pad to your preference. Rest to reduce the imflammation.

Visit your doctor, one who understands DOT privately and see what your options are without drugs. It's really important to get this fixed if possible. You only have one spine in life.

Lmao. Oh trust me it’s not like that. Technically all pain is in your head. It’s how the body works

    He's right Tucker.

The Brain produces what I call Receptors. Millions of them, cascading from Brain through the neck and shoulders towards your major bundles of nerves controlling heart and lungs first and then down the spinal second while locally important nerves were third. The Brain maintains a good connection with the body to control it well.

Pain is the ow that travels back up to the brain chemically and electrically to where it hurts. You are literally either burning or reacting badly to the ow pain messaging from your body. Which then invokes a variety of other situations within the Mind and Body. The one thing your Body wants to do is stop whatever it is doing that creates that ow. A example will be a automatic nerve connection hardwired deep inside your spine where if you picked up a hot pan fixing breakfast over the stove, your spine shorts out the hand and fingers momentarily and you drop that pan long before you realized through your eyes and mind that you had touched something pretty hot before the actual OW got to you. Hopefully the falling pan did not have boiling water or sizzling fat inside o fit.

Introducing pain you cannot get away from. Inflammation, Muscle and others. Inflammation is a vicious cycle. Arthritis is worse. Muscles can be managed. Structural defects in your skeleton such as broken joints etc are even worse. When your pain level approaches 7 you want a doctor to fix it now please. at 8 you cannot maintain a comfortable sitting or standing, you are trapped. Various tics come into play involuntarily that is part of the medical evidence that yes you are hurting. At 9 your eyes water and you begin to whimper and weep or other wise make noise. You cannot help it. You do pray at that point having discovered that if the pain increases you fog out and eventually your mind simply throws a short and you pass out. THUMP at pain level 10.

The easiest way to short circuit really bad pain that is disrupting you? Knock your arm or hand backwards against something like a wall. The ache or fire produced is not hurting that much but suddenly the entire body focuses on the new pain source and pretty much quits working the BIG pain that is turning you into a weeping, sweating and nauseated (Adrenaline) mess.

Mr Dr. Happy gives you Pot, Narcotics or whatever (Medical Pot card or pain patient) as the only way to get pain medicine in Arkansas because most all other doctors, family doctors, walk in clinics etc refuse to prescribe because they are afraid of the constant challenge letters from the state forcing them to justify every single dose given as if they have somehow committed a crime.

You can pick a active actual doctor and learn exactly what drugs prescribed to how many people under our medicare system further broken down by drug such as Oxycodone APAP. It isnationa, divided by state and zip code. You will learn exactly what your specific family physician has prescribed and to whom.

    Prescriber Checkup

Medicare Part D Opioid Drug Mapping Tool - Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

Prescriber Checkup: OXYCODONE HCL (An example)

At one point I was a pain patient with a Arkansas Doctor who ran a clinic serving 2110 others besides me each month, making him the number 7 to 9th highest scrip pill doc in the Nation. Which was approximately several million dollars retail value of medicine and the number of visits from 2110 people generated a base income of 150 a visit for 10 minutes doc coded, followed by a 250 urine drug test and followed again by a 450 dollar comprehensive lab backed test to discover pretty much all that is discoverable against the patient as well as monitoring kidney, liver heart etc. Multiply that by 2110 and you have a one hell of a financial empire. (Not including the general public non Medicare group which is pretty much about 4 people to every one. Now you are serving thousands. And drowning in millions.

NArcotics knock down your receptors causing your reality to go away, you haze out and nod off to sleep. Happy happy happy.

Take away all drugs too quickly in the harsh light of dawn the following day you are sick. In withdrawal as the brain struggles to deal with the massive billions of information pouring in overloading you. Too bright, too loud too sick too spinny too cranky in particular and in craving such need for narcotics at any price. You will sell all of JBH trucking just to get another pill to make all that stop in a pool of your own sweat.

Eventually your brain regains control of your body, getting your temperature, heartrate, blood pressure and so on. Life is not that bad but way better than the actual withdrawal as the receptors are processed away within your body.

And trucking hurts. Hurts alot. No wonder sometimes truckers seek out medicine in some way to make the ow go away.

The problem is that Uncle Sam has failed the American Trucker. Via overregulation and again by failing to allow a research as is ongoing in Russia, ISrael and other lands that are testing new drugs that will eliminate all pain and leave you stone sober. But it will be generations before our FDA approves it.

anyone caught trying to take something for pain skirting current laws in a big truck are essentially destroyed economically.

I hurt my back and it was killing me for weeks then I discovered a couple of simple yoga stretches . Really helped..in fact it cleared it up! I don't know your condition but you might give it a try. None of the stretches required me to be a pretzel.
