That one reminds me a bit of the 1st truck I drove, that was in mid-70's, it was a Red White pulling a chicken feed tallier. It only had one seat with plenty of room to my right side. Every once in a while at night time my wife would go with me, we would use the dispatchers chair for her to set in. At night there was no dispatcher, they just had the feed tickets laid out on the counter.

The first trailer I hauled had 10.00x15 , 14 ply rubber. This was before radial type tires were made in this size. Doing permitted weights was so much fun. On a hot day anything over 35 mph and you would be blowing them up. Michelin then brought out a 18 ply radial that was 200% better but still not near what we use now-days.
I love the old trucks but I'm glad I'm done with the old rubber.

1981 Western Star.jpg Well, I suppose to today's truck drivers this is an old truck, 1980 Western Star. I got it new in early September 1980, made my last load in either March or April 1981, it had over 100,000 miles on it.

oxnard oil.jpg This is one of my favorite old pics. Looks like a mid to late 40s KW at the Oxnard Oil Refinery, 1954. Any old timer that might have hauled crude oil back in the day might see something interesting in this pic. I drove a tanker for 4 years in the mid 70s & it caught my eye pretty quick.
