Same issue I have. Most of my programs are health-related and there are no MAC/iOS version of any of it.

I bought my first apple laptop over 10 years ago and it's still working great ( even while bouncing around in a semi lol )

Years ago, I removed Windows XP from an old Acer laptop and installed a Linux distribution. Linux doesn't need as much in the way of resources or disk space as Windows. I contemplated "jailbreaking" to install a MAC OS but opted for integrity. I advise against jailbreaking iOS devices. I'm fond of my iPhone and iPad, but I don't sanctify my choices like some Linux and Apple enthusiasts. If you're content with these systems, that's great! But there's no need to criticize Windows users.

My son-in-law prefers MAC and iPhone. He finds MAC to be a better fit for him, yet he recognizes the millions of satisfied Windows users worldwide. Choosing Linux and Apple is precisely that—a choice.

To note, my old Acer with Windows XP functioned well for nearly seven years. It survived being in my bunk and even went flying near Knoxville after a sudden braking incident, continuing to boot up and operate as if it were new.

MSCONFIG and turn off all the programs running in the system clock tray frees up memory and boots up faster.

Windows automatic updates will reboot your computer.

There are way too many software programs that have no iOS versions available.

Apple and iPhones are great for people who don't want to have any freedom in what they do or how they do it. I love the freedom of Windows and Android. Not many viruses for Mac's because nobody has one. That's not a bragging right. I just don't think Mac's are very intuitive. Everything is just, well, stupid. But I was raised on Windows, using 3.0 back in 1995.

I haven't had a virus on my Windows computer since 1997. It's not hard to avoid.

As far as operating systems, I prefer Apple hands down. They’re like Glock pistols. They just work.

Unfortunately though, Windows has all the good games.

In my original comment, I also damaged my video card. Nov and Dec of 2024 have not been my best months. Two trips to the Hospital and still I have shaking hands. Over the weekend my Son In Law took my tower apart took it outside and blew it out good. Then installed a new video card. I spent the morning making some changes to my setup and now can monitor my GPU and CPU temps as well as the Watts being used on the UPS as well as the run time.

My hands are still shaking I have an appointment with my Neurologist to see what is going on!

In the tray from left to right GPU temp, CPU temp, UPS Watts and Runtime!
