Thank you. And actually your corporate credit is tied to your personal credit. Trying to untie it is quite a trick. The difference one from the other is tissue paper thin".piercing the veil", I can think of another way to write that but it isnt as wordy as" piercing the veil". Yes I agree that would be bad .which is why you dont bother with incorporation till you absolutely must have it. Start up cost is bad enough without making it worse by by incorporating. Or getting your veil peirced. Mimic corporate practices , but leave incorporation alone till you are older. I forgot what being brand new to trucking is all about. I will feed you more of what you want and less of what you need from now on. My apologies for not telling it the way you want to hear it.

Was this about starting your own trucking business..?

Look, I'm not trying to sound like a dick, but if you want to write something informative, make it legible and coherent. You seem to go off on tangents with little or no explanation as to what you're talking about.

Paragraphs make a huge difference too.

There is so much bad advice in this post I don't know where to begin.

When you first starting out as an O/O or an I/O two things you need most is to become incorporated and have a good accountant that know trucking.

Your credit rating has nothing to do with the company's credit rating. Never mortgage the house for the business, and never use your personal property for the business that is call "Piercing the Corporate Vail". 1) its illegal 2) if you ever have to go out of business you will lose your corporate protection.

All these things are the first things they teach in the first class you take in business school and they repeat them over and over again in every class you take until you get your MBA.

I'm not saying you need to go to business school to start a one horse trucking or to sign a lease. I would recommend at least going to Barnes & Nobles and invest in $200 worth of books about incorporating, business taxation, and business operations. I would also suggest contacting OOIDA, the Trucking Assoc. in your state, the Small Business Development/Center for Economic Development in your state, and the U.S. Small Business Administration to get information about starting a trucking company.

Some colleges if they have a business school/college might even assign some students to help out.

From I have read it would seem Royce did not do his homework at the start and then had to learn the business lessons the hard way, but he made it and we have to say he was able to hold out when 99% of the others would have thrown in the towel. With that drive and ability he could have been a much bier company.

So read your books and find the people you want on your team and then do it.

The advancement of trolls and the staggering increase in stupidity of Americans makes telling the two apart so difficult. Notice this is this guys first 2 posts on here.

Dude, I'm not a trucker so I'm not sure what you're talking about....but I understand bitter, and that's kinda how that came off. At least the part I bothered to read, I didn't sign onto the website to read the truckers equivalent of 'War and Peace'

I don't know. It looks like good advice on CDL 1968's part. Something worth investigating if you're going into that type of ownership. At least it's not belly aching and complaining to no end.
