I myself and my dad worked for them some years ago..... Great folks they were. Not one negetive thing can I or him say about them. But from what I understand now they are now owned by R&L carriers don't know what kind of changes that brought on

Update on ABCO in Dade City, Fl for anyone wanting to know. It’s pretty low paying. .55 per mile as a company driver and 65% as a LP driver. They have all Pete 579 UltraLoft automatics lease optioned trucks. So the equipment is really nice but pay is meh! Trucks are from 2018-2022 but new guys get the older trucks and LP guys get 2019’s right now. Payments are low but you have to get your own Insurance and plates, fuel taxes and permits. They do nothing for you as far as a LP contractor goes. Orientation is about 2 days. The usual, hotel, lunch blah blah… after day 2 you’re off to work. Now for the important stuff. Do they have the miles??? Not really! I’d say avg miles for company guys are around 2200-2800 per wk. LP guys can get more but you have to be dispatch ready and stay out longer than 2 weeks at a time. Same goes for company drivers in order to get their “guaranteed $1300 per week gimmick. There’s a .02 per mile monthly bonus of you stay clean and on time. So potential is .57 per mile for co. drivers and the same sh**y 65% for LP guys. Once lease is up tho, you get the truck with title. No balloon payment according to their recruiters. But Idk for sure, can’t trust some of them… It’s a decent company still but not a lot of miles and a bit low paying compared to other reefer unit driving jobs out there. I don’t see them on the road very much anymore so I’m not sure what’s going on there. Hope this helps guys and gals. Stay safe out there and God bless…

Aside from drivers, I’ve applied over the years for some different office positions, orientation coordinator, fleet manager, I find it odd after 20 years on the road they find I’m not qualified for any of their office positions but yet they advertise for them daily. I could maybe understand the fleet manager position, but not qualified for an orientation coordinator? Doesn’t make much sense, I get the impression they don’t want a man with driving experience, they would rather have someone who pretends to know what it’s like to do the job and live the lifestyle.
