Which position is better?
Do their road drivers get paid more?
Are u put up in a motel in both?
One looks like you unload freight + drive and the other just drive
What's the difference in the work day per day?
ABF Checker/Driver + Dock/P&D vs ABF over the road??? What's better?

depends on rather or not you like to spend time unloading or loading. i perfer to drive and let someone else do the rest of it....
-
daytime driving is my deciding factor, I don't care if you pay me a 100k a year, I cant spend it from the grave.
-
I'd rather just drive, that is unless you're paid a whole lot more to unload.
I didn't get into truck driving to be unloading, I know that.
Anybody out there work for them?
Do they get you home? -
Road pays more, period. But P&D will keep you on a day shift where you can have somewhat of a normal life.
-
Any job you could get at ABF is better than 98% of all trucking jobs out there.IMHO
Moon_beam Thanks this. -
To the op. Exactly what the description says.
If you are scared of fingerprinting some freight, The Job could not be for you. Compensated well to do a job.
At my shop, The duties blend together for P&D and road driver duties. Finger printing is not a option. -
from what they offer is certainly looks that way.
I have little more than half year experience doing OTR and looking at what's better out there -
Yea ABF is one of the oldest companies in LTL. Im sure either will pay good. Their over the road is probably mostly linehaul (Terminal to Terminal Drop and Hook) since they have local drivers at every terminal. In the event you have to layover somewhere and do not have a sleeper, Im sure they put you up in a motel. I doubt youll do much layover with them?
