Hello All! New to the forum, first post.

I just got back from an ABF interview. Everything went very well and the recruiter said they really liked my background and resume, and the fact that I had my Class A with all endorsements and a clean record. He told me I would be going to their school for 4-6 weeks of training, after which I would be right to work. He said it would take about 2 weeks to process everything and then they would be contacting me for my drug test, physical and then school. I wanted to ask all of you who have been through this process how everything works? Who has been to ABF's school and where? He told me there were 4 locations. I'd love to hear from some of you who have been through the process. I am excited by this opportunity for sure, because it appears the pay and benefits are excellent.

DD, you have a Class A and ABF wants you in their school for 4-6 weeks? That doesn't make sense, since a cold start CDL course takes 4-6 weeks. 2 weeks to process, then the drug test, then physical, then school? Hmmmm. How long since you drove? Seems to me the Class A ought to move you to the front of the line. Just sayin'.

Jim, I have about 6 months experience which is why they want me to go to school. I've had the CDL over a year but have had a Class B job for awhile too. The recruiter told me I was at the top of their list because they are apparently getting a lot of applicants with permits whereas I have my CDL and all endorsements.
