Currently training flatbed with Britton Transport. They will hire new grads with clean MVR and solid work history. Well maintained equipment, good miles, and great people. I'm really enjoying it here.

True, just a handful of trainers but only around 100 trucks total to include van/reefer, flatbed, owner/ops. True 48 state and Canada. Good luck with your decision.

I was in orientation with a 21 or 22 year old. I'll have to check with our recruiter to be sure.

I keep a list of companies that hire 21 yr. old drivers; that's why I'm asking. That question is asked on here often; "I'm only 21, which companies will hire me."

The whole fleet is auto and many KWs around so you might get one of those too. We don't get to "pick" our truck but chances are it will either be a KW or Volvo... I'm a Volvo guy myself but either way they buy good equipment with inverters and fridges.

As a new driver, you really want a manual. Don't let those skills degrade.

Or just stay with companies that offer autos... More and more every year. And even more will come as they compete for drivers too.

    Just my two cents too.

They're not going to autos because they are competing for drivers, they're going to autos for mpg.

If you can drive a manual, you can work anywhere. You drive an auto, you're stuck at companies with autos.

My husband just finished training with Abilene and has been solo for just over a week now. The hotel he stayed at in Richmond during orientation was La Quinta, I believe.
They have kept him running so, so far so good!
    Good luck to you!

Yes yes yes... Thus goes the debate.

As for me and my house: autos all the way
