Got a run to trailer swap with a team headed east. But......goober me missed the part where I was supposed to drop and hook. Was informed by one of the team. Had to turn around and drop and hook. Wasted an hour of driving time for that goof. But......
Team had trailer wiring problems, so trailer exchange got delayed until in the morning. I ran out of hours, and they were still in western New Mexico. We'll hook back up after my 10, or sooner if they get a nice tail wind.

Every so often an hp load doesn't even get loaded. You might want to call first and ask before going on the clock.Redtwin Thanks this. -
Okay, I'll ask a question as the
, lol
How often do any of you get to the Cape area of SE MA at all? Just curious if AME has loads down this way.
Thanks

I can drive well, I could drive 45-foot coach buses, i.e., Greyhound, anyways for over 14 years before I decided to transition into the trucking business. Only problem? They were all automatic transmissions of course so now I am learning in CDL A school how to shift a 10-speed manual transmission. Definitely a challenge and something that I have never done. Ever.

I use split sleeper a fair bit. I let the QC figure it out though. If times are tight I log sleeper as soon as I stop then check it after 8 hours to see how much time I got back.
Use that time, then sleeper for another 2 hours and you get more time back. I then make sure to get a full 10hr break to get back on track.
Company policy is don't use it, but I figure they would rather I make on time delivery than obey that particular policy.KD5AXG and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -
I got some sleep then checked QC and load was cancelled so Im a happy camper again.

New load is going to TN (my 2nd time in that state since soloing!) which makes me doubly happy as TN isn't FL and I won't have to deal with 95.

Not sure where the Cape area is but I have been to MA twice in the three months I have been solo. 95 runs along the coast so it can't be that far off the route I took.

All we have are automatic transmissions so no need to worry about perfecting your shifting to come here.
Also, our cargo can't scream so that will make a nice change for you.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this. -
I understand why nothing will be done but they are hurting themselves. I have had a late delivery once because of trailer hide and seek.
