Length of training depends on previous experience and what you show them during driving test and while on trainer's truck. I was in training for a month after many years out of trucking. Some only did a couple weeks and I heard of one person who was here for training program and was offered his own truck after the 20-30 min test drive.
Training pay is flat rate daily pay even if the truck doesn't move. $75, $85 & $100 per day depending on stage of training.
Dot physical and urine test is done local to you before you get to Richmond. Mine was at a concentra not sure who they use now.slick mick, MidWest_MacDaddy, Jayback2trucking and 2 others Thank this. -
If someone told me I could do 680 miles on I95 during the day on a sunday I would have called them a liar.
Turns out I was the liar.
Also, trailer was at the correct plant...except I went to the wrong plant first!!. First load message had plant 1 when I wrote info down. Another message came later last night with trailer number and I only double checked load numbers were the same, didn't scroll down to see change of pickup address.
Oh well, I couldnt have gone any further with the wasted 15 mins as I am shut down in Ormond beach and there are no other t stops between here and Orlando over an hour away.
Don't need to leave here until 6 in morning so nice long rest for me.Finfn1372, MidWest_MacDaddy and KD5AXG Thank this. -

The only slowdown was south of jacksonville where shoppers heading to an outlet strip backed up the offramp onto 95.
Even the rain held off. I saw the skies darkening and thought that if there is heavy rain then all bets are off as traffic will be crawling at 40 with their 4 ways going.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.
