They hired me from ft Lauderdale can't see miami being an issue. We do have loads that go that far south. They would get you home to Nashville much easier as I40 is one of our main lanes.

Length of training depends on previous experience and what you show them during driving test and while on trainer's truck. I was in training for a month after many years out of trucking. Some only did a couple weeks and I heard of one person who was here for training program and was offered his own truck after the 20-30 min test drive.

Training pay is flat rate daily pay even if the truck doesn't move. $75, $85 & $100 per day depending on stage of training.

Dot physical and urine test is done local to you before you get to Richmond. Mine was at a concentra not sure who they use now.

If someone told me I could do 680 miles on I95 during the day on a sunday I would have called them a liar.

Turns out I was the liar.

Also, trailer was at the correct plant...except I went to the wrong plant first!!. First load message had plant 1 when I wrote info down. Another message came later last night with trailer number and I only double checked load numbers were the same, didn't scroll down to see change of pickup address.

Oh well, I couldnt have gone any further with the wasted 15 mins as I am shut down in Ormond beach and there are no other t stops between here and Orlando over an hour away.

Don't need to leave here until 6 in morning so nice long rest for me.

South of Richmond is totally doable.
Straight shot to I-4 and/or beyond.
Even the construction zones aren't bad.

    Redtwin Thanks this.

I think I asked once about it and I don't think it's true shore power... Keeps the battery charged, fuel warm, and fridge running but not much more.

But I could be totally wrong on that too.

Thanks for the information driver. I finally did the application, now its the waiting game and waiting for a recruiter to call back. I have three years verified experience but haven't been in a truck since 07 do you think that will be a problem? I also have my dot physical done. How did they get you to orientation and was there a orientation pay? Thanks

    Redtwin Thanks this.

Ive seen it much worse. I can only guess that kids are back to school soon so all the vacation road trips are winding down.

The only slowdown was south of jacksonville where shoppers heading to an outlet strip backed up the offramp onto 95.

Even the rain held off. I saw the skies darkening and thought that if there is heavy rain then all bets are off as traffic will be crawling at 40 with their 4 ways going.
