I last drove a class b straight truck locally in 2001 and my only previous experience in a class a was during school in 1995.
I don't think 2007 is going to be a problem.
I rented a car and drove up. They reimbursed rental car and gas. You can also fly, take train or bus. There may also be a driver you can hitch a ride with.
Training pay starts from first day of orientation. Its $75 a day (plus subway lunch). You stay on 75 a day while on trainer's truck until you move to stage 2 at $85 and stage 3 at $100 per day.
If you are a refresher you might start at a higher stage.
You will have to do another physical. Mine was only 4 months old and I had to do it again.
During orientation they put you up at the local la quinta. Really nice room that you have to yourself. You are also put up there inbetween trainers if necessary.Last edited: Aug 7, 2016

I don't bother asking anymore. It's too frustrating and wound up just putting me in a negative frame of mind.
I decided my peace of mind wasn't worth whatever extra I could have run with that time.MidWest_MacDaddy, RebelChick and Finfn1372 Thank this. -
The thing that kills me is they'll be beating on my door at 0400 in the morning.Than ill be up waiting around half the day for dispatch.
Redtwin Thanks this. -

Man I really shouldn't be complaining, the qualcom says ive put in a little more than 3900 miles since leaving the yardSaturday at midnight.Theres just a couple things I feel could be done better, but overall I'm happy.
Redtwin, chralb and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -
No planners on Sunday, usually. And don't expect a speedy plan tomorrow. It's Monday, and after everyone has been off a day, or two, they have to play catch up.
I'm sitting at my delivery in St. Cloud MN. Been here since 5 pm. Delivering in the morning supposedly. Not going to wait up for the construction crew that may or may not be working on a Sunday night. If they want it before the morning, they can knock on my door.
