@ midwest my degree is in applied physics with a minor in math. Honestly hating the college thing, only thing I look forward to is playing soccer being I walked onto the soccer team as a goalkeeper. Im oldest soccer player in the ncaa at 37, lol! It was really rough going back to school in my thirties studying the hardest thing ever, barely hanging onto a B avg. lol! Degree will be nice to have since my back is messed up from being blown off a roof in Iraq and having a bunch of scews and mesh in my low back, I know I might not be able to drive truck when I get much older with my back the way it is, took me 7 yrs before I could play soccer again. I do miss trucking and I got that diesel fever.

Well, that kind of depends on if you can run and your stamina for running... LOL
Miles can vary... I am currently on a low miles couple weeks myself but some here can honestly say you can normally expect 3,000/wk.
Again, a number of things impact that and it can ebb and flow too.KD5AXG Thanks this. -
Dang Dude!!!! That is an impressive feat... And couple that with the back issues... Wow!!!4mer trucker Thanks this.

Agreed. Of course there could be a third criteria. If the company sees what they have in a good team they just might run you hard for a few weeks. Not that I have any idea what that's like.

I'm still willing to bet if JB wasn't going on vacation, I'd still be bouncing around in that truck.

I thought the refresher program required two loads to NYC?

That's a good deal. I'm going out with one company and sticking it out for a full year.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

Sooo ... perhaps a little update on trailer 6527. After a shower, meal and a bit of casino time I get back to the truck to see my air tanks drained. Hmmmm ... normally by default I'm suspicious of Volvos and their air leaks but this truck has been rock solid so far. I start it up, air the system and hit the sack. When I woke up this morning I have an ABS light on. Went back to look things over but couldn't "hear" any air leaks. Of course this truck stop isn't exactly quiet. So I've disconnected the trailer air and shut the truck down. If I loose air it's the truck. If not, the trailer.
Question, if it is the trailer, does anyone know if there's any place around Fernley NV I could drag this thing to have it fixed? Does Abilene have an account with TA for work on trailers or rigs?
I reported the body damage to CMA and took it so another driver didn't have to deal with it. But now it's potentially a safety thing and I just don't budge there.Last edited: Aug 11, 2016

I did the refresher and didn't go to NYC at all. Guess they figured Groveport OH, and Hazelton PA was "NE" enough .. lol
Wish I had actually. I'd feel better having been there with someone experienced in the trip.Jayback2trucking Thanks this. -
