It just comes with this business. Trucking isn't perfect, and when it doesn't go Youre way out here and believe me it won't sometimes, you have to improvise and make it work regardless of Its not something you want to do or not. Youre not irreplaceable. Suck it up and move, and prove to em you can handle the big and small. Dispatchers love that ;)

I had to get angry once already. I didn't like myself much.

But, I don't think biotching about an inefficient and lackluster system of planning and dispatching is uncalled for.

For my wait, I got a Groveport to Carson, CA run. I don't think I have the hours to make it. Would have been a nice and welcome run, but, inefficient and lackluster system is in place. I pray that I can make it, but with 34 hrs left on a 37 hrs run, delivery on Monday, but my recap won't hit until Tuesday....it don't add up.

Yes, I am being a negative nilly, but I can only make decisions based on what info is given. I'm just being realistic.

What I truly need to do is to go back to my P3 attitude.

I'm stressed as I had a week with no pay. I only wanted 3 days. And at the end of September, I'll need 3 days again.
I am seeing an improvement in miles in general. Last week just screwed things up a bunch. N TX and no runs? Whatever. But, I am nothing but a nobody mushroom.

Grabbing a needed shower and passing out. Early p/u in the morning. God's will be done.

Well, I'm convinced the place is just falling apart with Kimberly on vacation. The change for the worst was imediate and obvious to me.

What I won't tolerate is just being ignored. Been blowing up the QC since empty over 4 hours ago and haven't gotten a single response. Got all these hours and drinking coffee for fear of missing an assignment and nothing. That's just rude and totally unprofessional. Tell me something! Am I sleeping, waiting on a load or what!!

Just sent another QC saying as much. Took a picture and will post it next. Hope its clear enough to read.

So, right after I sent this (picture below, hope it's readable) ... I get a reply.

"I've emailed dispatch to try and get you something."

I wrote back, "Welp, I've now been up for 13 hours and ran hard this morning. Only 2 things make me tired. Running hard and sitting. Tell them to make it for tomorrow now. "Hopefully" something towards the Richmond shop. I appreciate the response. Thank You. Chris"

QC Pic ... I'm uploading it full size so you'll have to click it's link.

Need more coals to rake them over? If I can make it that far, I'll grab you some from that San Bernardino fire. LOL

Now that's funny! You think just because she's on vacation everything goes to pot? Sorry. Not buying that. If you're on her board, maybe, but other FMs go on vacation and other FMs step in, and drivers have to sit a while. I get that you did the CA shuffle so you want to get moving. Relax. Could be that they've got a lot of other drivers in the area, or maybe they just are having a hard time finding a load they want to do.

Just doing my part to bring a little bit of reality to ya. I know that you know It ain't always gonna be sunshine and whiskey.

Another funny! 3.5 years and it hasn't changed. Improvise, adapt and overcome, driver. (Quote from Gunney Highway.)

Mine is Piss Poor Planning on your part in NO way constitutes an emergency on my part.

Yes, Carson is just south of LA. Fastest route is right down I-15 where it's closed as per QC message. News reports say NB I-15 is now open, but I'll keep monitoring the situation as we get into New Mexico. From there, we can take a US Highway route to I-10. But that will really make me late.

I REALLY want to complete this run. I just hope that traffic and road conditions are favorable for us. I'd love to post a couple of 700+ mile days. I miss those.
